Au parc La Fontaine, canotage sur l'étang
Au parc La Fontaine, le chalet-restaurant original en bordure de l’étang sud, avec ses petits airs de guinguette, est une destination prisée des promeneurs du dimanche. Construit en 1909, il est remplacé par l’actuel chalet-restaurant en 1951. Le canotage est une activité très populaire sur l’étang et, en cette belle journée d’été, tout le monde attend son tour sur le quai pour partir en expédition et s’inventer coureur des bois... l’espace d’un après-midi.
At La Fontaine Park, the original chalet-restaurant on the edge of the south pond, with its little "guinguette" atmosphere, is a popular destination for Sunday strollers. Built in 1909, it was replaced by the current chalet-restaurant in 1951. Canoeing is a very popular activity on the pond and, on this beautiful summer day, everyone is waiting for their turn on the wharf to go on an expedition and imagine themselves as a "coureur des bois"... for an afternoon.
